The Sisters of Mercy Health System-St. Louis began their mission of care in
St. Louis in 1871. Since then, health care has changed a lot. But one thing has
not changed. Today the organization is as committed as ever to providing health
care rooted in service, justice, excellence, stewardship and respect for the
dignity of each person.
On this foundation, Mercy Health Plans (MHP) was born in 1994 by the Sisters
of Mercy Health System-St. Louis. MHP creates a seamless, integrated health care
delivery system in our target communities -- Metropolitan St. Louis and Central
and Southwestern Missouri and Laredo, TX.
The vision is simple. An integrated system means we are more accountable for
our services. Every level of our organization has a vested interest in ensuring
positive results. This team approach also keeps costs under control.
