Privacy Policy
Mercy Health Plans of Missouri, Inc.
("MHP") is dedicated to protecting consumer privacy on the Internet.
MHP respects your privacy rights and protects the confidentiality of your
nonpublic personal information. We feel that it is important for you to
understand how we utilize the information we receive from you via the Internet.
Further, we have instituted policies to protect against any anticipated threats
or hazards to the security or integrity of such information and protect against
unauthorized access to or use of such information which could result in
substantial harm or inconvenience to any Member.
Nonpublic Personal Information
MHP does not disclose any nonpublic personal
information about our Members or former Members to anyone, except as permitted
by law. We collect nonpublic personal information on applications or other forms
and information from other sources with your signed authorization. We maintain
physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and
state regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
Use of E-Mail
Please understand that your e-mail, like most
non-encrypted Internet e-mail communications, may be accessed by other Internet
users, without your knowledge or permission, while being transmitted to MHP. If
you wish to assure the privacy of your communication, please contact our Member
Services Department by telephone at (800) 327-0763.
When you do contact MHP via e-mail, please know
that the contents of your communication may be shared with our Member Service
representatives, but is restricted to those employees or agents most capable of

Cookies
A "cookie" is an element of data that
a website can send to your browser when you link to that site. By assigning a
unique data element to each visitor, the site is able to recognize repeat users
and track usage patterns. This, in turn, allows MHP to analyze usage and improve
the site to better serve your needs. The cookie does not extract personal
information about you, and once you leave the site, the cookies will expire.
Most browsers are initially set to accept
cookies. However, you may set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you
when cookies are being sent. If you decline to use cookies, you may have
difficulty navigating through some parts of the site.
Security
MHP uses the latest security technology to
protect you during you Internet transaction. For other than general information
viewing, Mercy Health Plans' site must be used with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
compatible browser or terminal (such as Netscape or Internet Explorer versions
3.0 or greater). Our SSL web server uses authentication and offers the highest
level (128-bit RC4) of encryption technology commercially available.
You can tell when you are secure by looking at the location (URL) field. If
the URL begins with https:// instead of http://, the document comes from a
secure server. This means that your data cannot be read or deciphered by
unauthorized individuals.
User IDs and passwords provide two layers of authentication. Passwords and
IDs are stored in an encrypted database that is isolated from the Internet.
Right to Modify
MHP reserves the right to modify this Privacy
Policy at any time.
